A big thank you to these YA authors who gave generously of their time yesterday at the North Vancouver City Library:
Eileen Cook, MC
Joelle Anthony
Denise Jaden
Catherine Knutsson
Mindi Scott
They discussed their writing careers and experiences and then led two different workshops. I took part in Eileen and Joelle's Character Development. I wish I could have been in two places at once because the energy coming from the Inspiration in Writing room was electric.
Eileen is the only North Vancouver-based writer. Did you miss yesterday’s session? Well you may want to follow her on twitter (@Eileenwriter) or visit her website to see when she’s next speaking near you. Believe me, you won’t regret it.
I met two other writers there who run a regular blog that reviews YA fiction. If you’re looking for a good read, you may find some ideas here:

Lastly – thank you, Andrea Lane, Youth Public Service Assistant from the North Van City Library for organizing this event. And thanks to kidsbooks and DavidsTeas for their support. Thanks also to Heidi Schiller, Adult Fiction Librarian, who is a tireless advocate for local authors.
See you on the 14th.
